The Civil Construction Training Course, initiated by Workskills and Hazell Bros, is aimed at the long term unemployed, who have a strong desire to enter the Civil Construction Industry. Hazell Bros Training Manager Tony Cook said that the participants gained a good understanding of
industry requirements, and some transferrable qualifications to assist them in gaining employment.
"The aim is to provide opportunities for people to re-enter the workforce, with current and applicable skills for today's industry environment.
The first course allows 12 participants to attend three weeks of combined theory and field training days, covering topics such as OH&S, communication, leveling, measurements and calculations, traffic management, and plant training and assessments for excavators and rollers.
Feedback from the first course has been really positive, and Hazell Bros is proud to be offering
opportunities to the long term unemployed, and contributing to the development of our industry," he said.
The media is invited to attend the graduation of the Civil Construction Training Course. Morning tea and refreshments will be provided.
